Maybe if one of the shops gets any, I may just have to nab one then! [Though she can't help but enjoy walking sometimes.] It would be funny if I could apply a haste spell to one too, or myself, and possibly go even faster.
Mainly elemental spells, like fire, ice, lightning, and shadow, there's more, but I haven't learned how to use them, yet. [One day she will though.] Oh, and I can also turn myself invisible, track specific people or a general group of them, make anyone run double the speed they could before, and make slow down your descent when falling! [Simple stuff, really.]
One's mind is good enough to use magic, well, one's mind and hands. I also can use every day objects to channel my spells through, but I can only use them once! They crumble to pieces right when the energy passes through them, unless they're specifically made to have arcane energy go through them.
So, for you... if you channel magic through something, that makes it more focused, and that's what makes it more powerful than just doing the spell? [ Has he got this slinging thing right? ]
That's exactly how it works for me! [It's not slinging, but at least he's getting channel casting down.] Though channeling doesn't automatically mean that the spell is more focused for other mages, many can be at their best level without the channel, but this all depends on the person.
I do! And a rather large stash of marbles as well to be used as a substitute, as well as to cast some spells that I normally can't channel through my gun.
At first, it's really hard to tell, but, uh, at the same time, it really depends on what kind of magic you're dealing with. [Since Luceti magic is different from what she knows...]
Yeah? [ Ehh. ] I guess there's different types... But I really want to be able to learn some. Helios said he'll teach me, but we don't know if I'll be able to.
I don't see why the lack of magic in one's world would make it so they couldn't learn how to use someone else's. [She thinks this over for a moment.] Unless the magic has some specific rules about that, but I can't say for certain.
Even so! That doesn't mean you can't branch out and try to learn magic from a bunch of other different worlds.
Hmm... I guess you're right. Yeah. [ Then... ] Do you think I could try learning some of your magic? I only really want to learn how to heal. But it's really important to me.
W-well, uh, I myself don't really know any healing spells, and I'm not a very good teacher...so learning healing magic is something I can't exactly teach without having to learn myself. [Oh archmages.]
But if you really do want to learn the magic from my world, I must warn you, it's very dangerous.
I don't care if it's dangerous. I can learn to control it, right? [ Anyway. ] What I want to learn are spells I can use to help my pokémon. They're the better fighters.
If I knew a spell to make them faster.. Snorlax could be invincible! Venusaur too!
You're looking into support spells then. Alright. But, I must warn you of the dangers of the arcane if you plan on wielding it. They're quite severe Red, and I will not sugar coat them. [The dangers are what usually turns away most people from following the path of a mage, and Karis isn't sure whether or not Red will stick with it.]
[She clears her throat, as this is going to be a long one...]
Arcane energy, the fuel of magic, is a flowing force that has three severe consequences when used excessively, two of which will negatively impact the body greatly due to the energy passing through their bodies. Certain races can only take a certain amount of arcane energy passing through them, if it becomes greater than what they can handle, then severe aneurysms can occur. These aneurysms will either leave a subject dead due to how powerful the bursting of one's blood vessels is, or they will lose certain functions of their body. Those that survive are put into a state in which they are unable to speak full sentences, control certain bodily functions, or even feed themselves.
The second consequence results after prolonged exposure to magic, enough to where one becomes addicted to the flow of energy. People in this state have sought out anything, mainly drugs though, to enhance the arcane energy, or travel to places where the energy is highly concentrated. These actions can easily lead to the first consequence.
The last one is not something we exactly have to worry about in Luceti, but I'm listing it off anyway. In my world, if a large group of individuals abuse magic over a very long period of time, rifts between the main source of arcane energy, the arcane plane, tear open and pour into our plane of existence, the material plane. With larger rifts come creatures of the arcane, elementals. They are violent, almost mindless, as all they seem to want to do is feed off the energy of others and bring about destruction wherever they go.
These are the risks the mages of my world face when using magic, and should always be taken seriously.
[ He listens carefully without any interruption, thinking at first he might have to ask what an aneurysm is until she explains about the blood and gets the idea. By the end, it's hard not to think it's all about bad stuff, magic. But this is just the risks as Karis said...
It feels like there's a lot of questions to be asked. ]
...Is this all the extreme? Like, if I abused it, or tried to do too much at once on my pokémon. Could it be okay as long as I tried to be careful?
[ He wouldn't want to cause his pokémon any harm, and if this all meant that his pokémon could end up being at risk... ]

You should have a go on a bike if you ever see one here. They're fun. You pedal away and it's great everything looks around you.
Plus it's faster than walking.
